Book Blog

My book blog only includes books I'd recommend. I wouldn't want to discourage someone from reading a book with a bad review.  Whether you (or I!) enjoy a book is largely dependent on preference and mood. Whatever mood you're in today, find a good book to read. Enjoy!

Funny, Saucy, and Spicy!

This was a quick read for me. Thorpe’s writing, descriptions, and character building are excellent. The swapping between tenses is masterfully executed. The switch between 1st and 3rd person enhances the story and isn’t jarring or confusing. Margo is endearing, and at the same time, infuriating. Be prepared for some spice and read this book!

Margo, a 20-year-old woman, has an affair with her English Professor. It’s brief but comes with a lifelong consequence: a baby. As she struggles to make ends meet, she has an idea. What if she makes an Only Fans account? Will Margo succeed or will this be a huge mistake? You’ll be cheering for Margo as she navigates her crazy life.

What a charming and emotional novel! A retelling of Little Women from the perspective of Marmee. The story is told through journal entries, and the style works well for this book. Margaret felt very real to me. There is so much strength in her character. Her insights on life and death will have you pausing to reflect on her words. The writing is simply beautiful.

While civil war rages in the South, Margaret March is raising four daughters alone. Her husband is serving in the army and money is tight. Even through the toughest of times, Margaret manages to find good in the world. She guides her family through each trial with love and compassion.

Don’t take this book on vacation unless you want to be crying on the beach!
