Broken Country by Clare Leslie Hall

This book has a little bit of everything: mystery, loss, love, drama. I was captured from page one and Hall did a masterful job hiding the ending. It’s written at the pace of a thriller as a trial unfolds. On the last page, I was crying but also filled with joy. Yeah, it’s one of those books! Do some of the characters make massive, extremely stupid mistakes? Yes! But don't let that get in the way of enjoying a well-written, interesting novel.
Beth is happily married to her husband Frank—or as happy as they can be after the loss of their son. But when Gabriel, her old love, reappears, their solid foundation is shaken. A spark ignites between the old lovers, and soon someone is dead.
